Private healthcare in Russia
Over the past decade in the cosmopolitan cities like Moscow and Saint Petersburg the private treatment has grown significantly. To access private treatment, you will need to take a private health insurance plan.
When it comes to dental care, specialist care, and mental health treatments there are a lot of private insurers in Russia. You will usually need to pay fees upfront and claim reimbursement.

To be added there is private health coverage that is chosen by foreign residents although only 5% of Russians choose private healthcare. If you still choose private treatment without insurance you will have to cover full costs by yourself like this:
- 25-50 euros for a consultation with a private GP or specialist;

- between 150-700 euros for private treatment;
- up to 50 euros for a dental check-up;
- between 50-100 euros for an overnight stay in a private hospital.
